OXOID
OXOID
Key Features:
Oxoid Orange Serum Agar works by providing:
The intrinsic low pH of orange serum restricts growth to acid‑tolerant organisms, including:
These organisms are commonly responsible for spoilage of citrus-based foods and beverages.
The medium contains:
Comparative studies show Orange Serum Agar to be superior for total count and spoilage organism detection compared to other media designed for citrus spoilage organisms.
Applications:
Benefits:
-Its low pH environment and nutrient formulation allow precise detection of organisms that survive in acidic citrus matrices, improving confidence in spoilage assessments.
Proven Superior Performance
-Backed by comparative studies demonstrating enhanced recovery compared to alternative media, making it a trusted choice for citrus-focused microbiology labs.
Versatile Application Range
-Ideal for:
Routine QC
Product development
Environmental and packaging monitoring
- Supports Fast, Accurate Enumeration
Standard plate count methodology is easily applied, enabling:
Rapid colony-forming unit (CFU) determination
Reproducible microbial load tracking over time
Easy Preparation and Standardized Performance
Dehydrated form allows simple preparation and consistent batch‑to‑batch results, ensuring reliability in regulated laboratory environments.
