SGL Yeast Extract Agar (MYA) is a ready-to-use culture medium supplied in 450ml bottles for the cultivation, recovery and enumeration of yeasts, moulds and other microorganisms that require nutrient-rich growth conditions. Commonly used in food and beverage manufacturing, brewing, dairy production and environmental monitoring, the medium supports the detection of spoilage organisms that can affect product quality and shelf life. The ready-prepared format removes the need for media preparation and sterilisation, helping laboratories save valuable time whilst maintaining consistent microbiological testing procedures.
